Our Family of the Month, Chuck and Linda Morrisson, is here today because of unconditional love and amazing grace.
They were both raised Catholic. Chuck was an altar server for many years – and can still recite many of the prayers in Latin. But as life got complicated, church fell by the wayside.
Each had successful careers, Chuck with the Washington Post, and Linda with a computer software company. Chuck and Linda met in 1994 when they were both living on sailboats in Melbourne Harbor. They married and moved out of the area for a while, returning in 2000.
On the way to Mass in the Florida Keys on Christmas Day, they passed a billboard that read “God is Unconditional Love.” It was in explaining that concept to their grandson that they both again experienced the unconditional love of God and began attending Church faithfully.
A parish mission helped them to understand the amazing grace of God, and they took the needed steps to join fully into parish life. During the past 10 years, Linda has been active in supporting Bible Studies, the New Evangelization initiative, the 2013 International Festival, the Ministry to the Sick, Adoration, and the Open Table Ministry.
St. John’s is blessed to have them as parishioners.
