Family of the Month (April, May, June)

April Family of the Month

Lou and Judy Permanente joined our parish in March, 2010. They have been active members of the Parish Life Committee putting their cooking skills to work for us. They have helped with picnics, fundraising and ministry dinners. Around 2015, they became part of the Youth Ministry by preparing Sunday evening dinners for them. The youth loved their meals!

Did you know that Fr. Brad taught Judy and Lou how to cut up vegetables?

Beside their involvement at St. John’s they are very involved with their 2 children and 5 grandchildren always gathering around the table for holidays and other celebrations, like good Italians that they are..  We thank Lou and Judy for volunteering at St. John’s!Lo

May Family of the Month

John and Joella Prokopowicz have been members of St. John the Evangelist since March, 2002. They enjoy their children and grandchildren and the many trips to be with them.

John is currently a lector and has been involved in many ministries. He has helped the Parish Life Committee with picnics, dinners, golf tournaments, and funeral repasts. He is very involved in the Knights of Columbus, was a past Grand Knight, and has for many years coordinated the Mass of Roses here at St. John’s.

Joella was the founding coordinator of the Parish Life Committee so she was able to keep John busy and out of trouble. She also served on the Parish Council and was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She volunteered to work on golf tournaments and many of our social events throughout the years..

One bit of interesting information about them is that when Fr. Larry Olszewski, our founding pastor, went on trips or meetings they became the stand-in parents to Fr. Larry’s dog, Oliver.

Thank you, John and Joella, for your years of dedicated service!

June Family of the Month

Richard and Barbara Bosseler have been members of St. John’s Parish since November, 2003. They enjoy time with their children and grandchildren.

Richard is part of the cooking team. He has helped with the Youth Ministry dinners, Christ Renews His Parish and also manages our kitchen. Barbara has been involved in the Council of Catholic Women and Christ Renews His Parish. Both are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion as well as Ministers to the Sick.

Both Richard and Barbara enjoyed helping the children for Vacation Bible School, dancing with the music and having fun! They both have some great moves!

Thank you, Richard and Barbara, for all you have done for St. John’s!
