The Family of the Month award has been presented by
the Knights of Columbus in our parish for the past four
years. This month it is being presented to a family who
has belonged to the parish almost since its inception.
St. John the Evangelist community and the Knights of
Columbus Council #6125 is proud to announce that
Steve and Kathy O’Conor are the Family of the Month
for January.
Steve and Kathy have been active in several parish
ministries ever since they moved here from New Jersey
in April 2002. Together, they have served as
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, as Retreat
Directors for our Christ Renews His Parish Program, and
as members of the CRHP Continuation Committee.
Kathy is a Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Conference
of Catholic Women where she served as Co-Chair of the
Spirituality Commission. Kathy also served as
Coordinator of our parish Food Bank during the period
of the Covid pandemic.
Steve has served in the Choir, and for the past four years
he has been the Coordinator of the Ministry of the Word
and an Administrator for the Ministry Scheduling
Program, while also serving as a Lector at Daily and
Sunday Masses. Steve also served as the Coordinator
for our Bible in a Year and Consecration to St. Joseph
programs. A 50+ year member of the Knights of
Columbus, Steve has served as Grand Knight of our
Council and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree
Assembly. Currently, Steve leads a group of parishioners
who are becoming Lay Dominicans.
