St. John the Evangelist and the Knights of Columbus proudly awarded Carl and Eileen Hazell as June’s Family of the Month on July 3rd.
Carl and Eileen have been married for 43 years and they have one son who got married last August. They have been members of St. John the Evangelist since they moved to Florida in 2010. After arriving in Viera, Carl contacted a friend who also attended the same Church in the Virgin Islands as he and Eileen did. He told him that he had just realized that their home in Viera was just 5 minutes from a golf course and 5 minutes from a Catholic Church. To this his friend responded: "You mean to say that you are five minutes from Church? Then you must be in heaven!" And that is why they still come to this church.
Carl and Eileen regularly assisted at the Daily Bread facility in Melbourne until the onset of Covid. Eileen is a member of CCW and the Rosary Makers. Carl is an usher at the Sunday 9am mass and is also a member of the Digital Media Ministry.
