Knights of Columbus Family of the Month

Helene Harmon has been a parishioner of St. John’s since November, 2018.

Prior to joining our parish, she was a member of St. Joseph’s in Palm Bay.

Helene was married to her now deceased husband, Frank, for 23 years and has been a widow for 27 years. She has been blessed with three children: Frank, Jr., who is deceased, Catherine who lives in Colorado, and Ralph who lives in New York. She is also blessed with 6 grandchildren.

She was born in Manchester, NH, a cradle Catholic from a very devout Catholic family. She was educated by the Holy Cross nuns for 12 years (grade school and high school) and was one of their best students. All of her siblings attended Catholic school, as well.

She went to St. Anselm College for her B.S. in Nursing and graduated in 1958. She served as a nurse for 7 years, then joined Frank in his business. Frank was retired from the military.

Helene joined the Peace Corps and worked in Afghanistan.

She has volunteered at Hospice of Health First in respite care, sitting with patients so that the caregivers can take a break. She also volunteered at the American Cancer Society. She has always reached out to people in need and is grateful to God for the opportunity.

She is a regular Mass attendee who shares her time and talents with others.

Thank you, Helene! We are so blessed to have you as a member of St. John’s.
