Scott and Carmen Mimbs have been members of St. John the Evangelist since October of 2009. They have been married for 44 years and have two children. Their son, daughter-in-law, and nine-year-old granddaughter live in Orlando. Their daughter and son-in-law live in Des Moines, Iowa.
Upon joining the parish, Scott and Carmen volunteered as a FOCCUS couple and continued this for ten more years.
They both served on the St. John’s 10th Anniversary Committee and worked together on the first Capital Campaign Committee for “God’s Heart…Our Dream.” They also served on the first International Festival.
Scott is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) and sacristan, serving since 2010. He is also a member of the Digital Ministry team. Since 2018, Scott has been the altar server coordinator and trainer. He is also on the liturgical ministry scheduling team, MSP.
Carmen was a catechist assistant for the First Holy Communion class for two years and helped with VBS in various roles. She was an EMHC, is a member of the Contemporary Choir, and also serves on the Art and Environment team.
They are very humbled and proud to serve such a vibrant parish as St. John the Evangelist, and we are blessed by their contributions of time and talent.
