The Music Ministry at St. John the Evangelist consists of a vibrant group of vocal and instrumental musicians who work together to assist the assembly at weekend and special liturgies. Opportunities are available for all ages in various choirs and ensembles, as singers, instrumentalists, and piano/organ accompanist.
Director: Heidi Pranzoni hpranzoni@stjohnviera.org
The Resurrection Choir serves our community by singing at funeral masses held at St. John’s, which can be any day of the week (except Sunday). There is no weekly rehearsal time for this ensemble and anyone who loves to sing is welcome to join; members are notified when funerals are scheduled and warm-up/rehearsal is 30 minutes beforehand in the choir room. To be a part of this beautiful ministry to bereaved families, email Heidi Pranzoni (hpranzoni@stjohviera.org) or see her after a weekend mass.
Dedicated media volunteers are critical to ensure that the assembly can fully and actively participate in our weekly liturgies. The role consists of simply clicking on the appropriate screens for the prayers and songs used during mass, as well as the pre-mass slides and announcements.
Volunteers are needed for all regular weekend masses, as well as funerals (primarily weekday mornings) and holy days and special liturgies throughout the Church year.
A short and simple training must be arranged, and there is opportunity to "shadow" a current volunteer at any of the weekend masses. If interested, please email Heidi Pranzoni at hpranzoni@stjohnviera.org.
