Family Prayer for our Parish Community

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
 
"Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth." Psalm 124:8
 
Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your peace and kindle in us the fire of your love.
 
Gracious and most loving Father, we come to you with hearts filled with gratitude for the gifts of our Family, Friends, Faith, Country, and St. John the Evangelist Parish Community. All that we are and all that we have come from you. We humbly ask you, Lord, to watch over us and our families that we might become shrines of your life, love, joy, patience, forgiveness, and mercy. Drive far away from our homes any inklings of anxiety, fear, division, anger, resentment, animosity, and hatred. Increase our faith; forgive our sinfulness; heal our brokenness; redirect our waywardness; renew our zeal to serve you in our brothers and sisters.
 
Give us an intense love for the Eucharist that, drawing strength from it, we might allow you to stretch us, melt us, and mold us to be the persons that you want us to be. Embolden us with the gifts of your Holy Spirit that when we face challenges, we may stand firm; when we face temptations, we may resist them; when we face crises of relationship, health, employment, and finance, may we be reminded of your providential care and overcome our limitations with the armor of faith. Grant pardon and peace to those who have died in our families.
 
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father
