Jeff and Lydia Swalchick have been members of St John The Evangelist Catholic Church since April of 2003, 18 years. Lydia and Jeff have blessed our Faith community by giving of their time, talent and treasure. In an exceptional way Lydia has blessed our community with her singing starting back in the Government building. She has been a member of our Chorale and Cantor singing here at St John’s all these years. She helped develop our funeral and wedding ministry as a cantor. In 2013 Lydia produced her first music CD Heavenly and dedicated it to The Congregation of Holy Cross United States Province of Priests and Brothers.
Lydia who has her MBA, sat on the 2012 Finance and Building Fund Committee for the construction and development of our beautiful church.
In 2008 Lydia started The St John the Evangelist Mom’s Bible Study, mentoring and teaching young women of our church. This past year during our lock down due to Covid, she branched out and was able to meet with the moms’ bible study over zoom.
Lydia has been an active member of the St John’s CCW and Gracia Plena.
Jeff and Lydia have both attended CRHP, Christ Renews His Parish, and have been instrumental in recommending others to attend.
Jeff is also a member of one of the St John’s men’s group. Jeff when not working has been actively involved in St John’s Habitat of Housing and The Children’s Hunger Project.
Lydia completed the Open Table instruction and both she and Jeff have given of their time, Jeff as a physician educating the young adults on important medical issues.
Both Jeff and Lydia are so very thankful God lead them to St John The Evangelist Church and look forward to the next 18 years.
