For the ELEVENTH year, the parish community of St. John the Evangelist Church will participate in the diocesan- wide LENTEN LONG- SLEEVE SHIRT DRIVE to benefit the farmworker community of Central Florida.
This is a VERY SHORT-TERM project (2 weeks). We will be collecting donations after Mass beginning the weekend of March 26th and 27th, and ending April 2nd and 3rd.
We are also collecting both men's and women's jeans, light jackets, hats, sneakers, work gloves, and socks which are often fashioned into "mittens" to protect the hands of the workers. This year we have also been asked to collect children's clothing. Adult clothing should be limited to sizes small, medium, and large. The Farmworker Association has requested no extra large clothing this year. Please try to adhere to the above mentioned items.
