The Family ofthe Month award has been presented by the Knights of Columbus as part of their Faith in Action initiative. This past month’s award is being presented to a family whose passionate involvement in the community has recognized them as faithful servants.
St. John the Evangelist community and the Knights of Columbus Council # 6125 are proud to announce that Christopher and Kathryn Price are the Family of the Month for May. Chris and Kate Price joined the parish in July of 2020. At the time, they had one son, Benedict, whom you may have heard interviewed by Fr. John regularly at 9 a.m. Mass before the children's liturgy of the word.
Since then, they welcomed their second son John Patrick, better known as Jack, who was baptized at St. John's in September of 2021. Their 3rd son Charles "Charlie" Preston, was baptized this past Pentecost Sunday, 2023.
Chris and Kate have been involved in the parish since their arrival. Kate is a cantor and sings in the choir at 9 a.m. Mass and has also enjoyed serving in the music ministry at other parish events, including Living Stations of the Cross and Stations of the Crib. Chris helped form the Men of St. Joseph prayer and fellowship group at St. John's, which has met weekly for over a year and a half.
The Prices are extremely grateful for the welcoming and supportive people they have met at St. John's and admire the life-giving culture that Fr. John, Fr. Vincent, and the staff continue to create in the parish. Thank you, Chris and Kate, for your service to the community. You arepraised for your labors of love.
