This month we honor Johnnie and Mary Rivera as the Family of the Month. Johnnie and Mary have been parishioners of St. John the Evangelist since August, 2005.
Johnnie is involved with Christ Renews His Parish and the Men’s Discipleship Group. If you have attended some of our food events you probably have tasted one or more of Johnnie’s masterpieces. He started cooking on Sunday evenings for the Youth Ministry, and his skills have been enjoyed by many here at St. John’s. He also cooks for events at Patrick Air Force Base, the Knights of Columbus in Melbourne, and private gatherings. What a wonderful chef! Among those who have worked with him in the kitchen it has been known that the “roadrunner” that just flew by was Johnnie!
Mary has been involved in the Council of Catholic Women, Christ Renews His Parish, and sometimes helps Johnnie in the kitchen. Mary is on the team that maintains the benches, tables, and statue in the courtyard.
Johnnie and Mary, along with their grandson, sanitize the pews after the 7:15a.m. Mass.
From cooking to cleaning, Johnnie and Mary can do it all!
